Emirates Global Aluminium Enhances Operations with Azure Hybrid Cloud

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the world’s largest producer of premium aluminum, has adopted a hybrid cloud infrastructure managed by Azure Arc to enhance operational efficiency and optimize production. The approach integrates on-premises datacenters with Azure’s public cloud, enabling advanced AI and automation solutions.

“We use the best of the Azure public cloud but we also brought the power of Azure back to our plants,” said Alexander Simon, EGA’s director of digital platforms and infrastructure.

By leveraging Azure Arc, EGA has significantly reduced AI operational costs by over 80% and improved AI-driven decision-making response times by a factor of 13. The scalable infrastructure also allows EGA to replicate its technology for aluminum smelting in other countries, opening new revenue opportunities.
