Mobec Innovation Launches Lithium Battery Recycling Plant in Noida

Mobec Innovation has inaugurated its first lithium battery recycling facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, marking a step toward enhancing India’s clean energy infrastructure. The plant, with an annual processing capacity of 6,000 tons, aims to reduce the nation’s dependence on imported critical minerals while advancing sustainability goals.

Expanding beyond its core focus on B2B mobile EV charging solutions and energy storage systems, Mobec’s new facility employs advanced hydrometallurgical and mechanical extraction methods to recover valuable materials, including lithium, cobalt, nickel, graphite, copper, and manganese from end-of-life batteries.

CEO Harry Bajaj emphasized the strategic importance of the plant, stating, “By reducing reliance on imported lithium and other critical minerals while recovering valuable resources, we are reinforcing our commitment to green mobility, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.”

The recycling process involves multiple stages, starting with battery dismantling and component separation, followed by black mass collection, purification, and extraction of key metals. These recovered materials will be utilized in electric vehicle production, renewable energy, consumer electronics, aerospace, and healthcare sectors.

Industry experts highlight that this facility aligns with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, localizing the supply chain for essential battery materials. The plant has obtained all necessary environmental certifications from the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and benefits from Mobec’s in-house R&D capabilities.
