Lithium Chile and Grupo Errázuriz Apply for Special Lithium Operation Contract in Coipasa Salt Flat

Lithium Chile and Grupo Errázuriz have jointly submitted an application for a Special Lithium Operation Contract (CEOL) to produce lithium from the Coipasa salt flat in Chile. This move aligns with Chile’s National Lithium Strategy, which seeks to strengthen the country's position in the global lithium market and diversify production beyond the Atacama salt flat.

The joint venture covers 89.83% of the Coipasa salt flat, marking a significant step toward expanding lithium production in Chile. By targeting Coipasa, Lithium Chile and Grupo Errázuriz aim to challenge the dominance of established industry leaders like SQM and Albemarle, contributing to the country's broader strategy to diversify its lithium extraction regions.
