Former U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo Joins ACG as Non-Executive Director
ACG has announced the appointment of Michael R. Pompeo, former U.S. Secretary of State, as a Non-Executive Director. Pompeo, who served as the 70th U.S. Secretary of State from 2018 to 2021 and as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from 2017 to 2018, brings extensive geopolitical expertise and a strong global network to ACG.
Prior to his government service, Pompeo graduated from Harvard Law School and founded Thayer Aerospace, a successful aircraft parts manufacturing company. He later represented Kansas’s 4th district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017.
Pompeo’s appointment comes as part of a strategic partnership between ACG and Impact Investments LLC, where he serves as Executive Chairman. Impact Investments, a U.S.-based advisory and investment firm, provides strategic and financial counsel to leading global companies. Through this partnership, Impact Investments will support ACG’s strategy to expand as a leading copper company catering to U.S. and Western industrial supply chains.
Artem Volynets, Chairman and CEO of ACG, expressed enthusiasm about Pompeo’s appointment, emphasizing his role in guiding ACG’s growth through mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Volynets stated that Pompeo’s addition validates ACG’s strategy and is a key step toward realizing its ambitions.
Pompeo welcomed the opportunity, highlighting ACG’s progress, including its acquisition of the Gediktepe Mine in Türkiye, and its potential to capitalize on rising global copper demand. He looks forward to contributing to ACG’s expansion and value creation for shareholders.
