First Atlantic Nickel Acquires Strategic Claims in Newfoundland to Support Project Expansion

January 20, 2025

First Atlantic Nickel has completed the acquisition of mining licence 038152M, securing 100% ownership of 12 mineral claims in central Newfoundland. These claims, known as the RPM South claims, are located directly south of the RPM Zone within the company’s 30-kilometer nickel trend at the Atlantic Nickel Project. The acquisition allows for expanded exploration and development opportunities as the RPM Zone is no longer constrained by project boundaries.

The new claims hold strategic importance for future project infrastructure while being geologically prospective. They may host awaruite nickel mineralization extending southward and at depth from the RPM Zone. Planned drill programs will target mineralization in all directions, with a focus on depth exploration.

Assays and metallurgical testing are currently underway for Phase 1 drill core samples, with results expected in the coming weeks. Whole rock assays aim to determine nickel grades as well as the presence of iron, chromium, and cobalt. Preliminary Davis Tube Recovery (DTR) testing is also in progress to evaluate the potential for commercial magnetic separation recovery.

The company anticipates providing updates on Phase 2 drilling plans soon. The RPM Zone remains open for drilling in all directions, with mineralization appearing more substantial towards the east and showing promise at greater depths along strike. This acquisition marks a strategic step in advancing the Atlantic Nickel Project and underscores the company's commitment to unlocking the region’s nickel potential.
