Cruz Battery Metals Acquires Central Clayton Valley Lithium Project

January 14, 2025

Cruz Battery Metals Corp. will acquire the 580-acre Central Clayton Valley Lithium Brine Project in Nevada, expanding its regional footprint to 820 acres. The $115,000 deal includes BLM fees and staking costs, plus seven million shares under a four-month hold, pending regulatory approval.

The project, with 29 claims, is surrounded by SLB’s Clayton Valley lithium project. SLB has advanced in direct lithium extraction (DLE), producing high-purity lithium carbonate. Cruz aims to capitalize on the site's strategic location within the basin.

President James Nelson highlighted growth potential from domestic resource policies under the incoming administration. He cited Albemarle’s Clayton Valley facility as the only North American lithium producer, suggesting increased investment in U.S. projects.

Global EV demand is rising, with China reporting over 50% of passenger car sales as new energy vehicles in 2024. GM also doubled its U.S. EV market share last year.

Nelson believes Cruz’s Nevada expansion positions the company to benefit from growing lithium demand and evolving market conditions.
