Bipartisan Congressional Aluminum Caucus Relaunched to Support U.S. Industry

January 28, 2025

The bipartisan Congressional Aluminum Caucus has been re-launched, spearheaded by Congresswoman Carol Miller and Representatives Glenn Grothman, Haley Stevens, and Morgan McGarvey. The caucus aims to promote awareness of the U.S. aluminum industry, address key challenges, and highlight the metal's essential role in modern manufacturing.

Congresswoman Miller emphasized the economic and industrial significance of aluminum, stating, "Aluminum is a critical metal used in a wide range of products, from kitchenware and furniture to aircraft. The U.S. aluminum industry supports hundreds of thousands of jobs nationwide, including over 1,100 in West Virginia alone. This industry has contributed billions to our national economy, and the caucus will work to bolster it while strengthening U.S. manufacturing."

Echoing similar sentiments, Congressman Grothman highlighted the industry's workforce and future potential. "The aluminum industry employs 700,000 Americans, including 2,817 in Wisconsin’s Sixth District," he noted. "To ensure its continued growth and competitiveness, we must prepare the next generation of skilled workers for roles in traditional manufacturing and advanced technologies. I am proud to serve as a co-chair of this caucus and advocate for the industry's future."

The Congressional Aluminum Caucus will focus on fostering industry growth, addressing workforce development, and ensuring the U.S. remains competitive in global aluminum production and manufacturing.
