France’s Russian Titanium Imports Reach Record High in 2024

France significantly increased its titanium imports from Russia in 2024, reaching a historic high of €108.6 million, according to Eurostat data analyzed by RIA Novosti.

France imported 2,400 tonnes of Russian titanium last year, with the value of purchases rising by nearly 19% compared to the previous year. In volume terms, imports increased by 22%, marking the highest level recorded in bilateral trade relations.

France accounted for half of all Russian titanium purchases by the European Union. Germany, another key buyer, reduced its imports by 18% to €77 million. Other European importers included Spain (€11.2 million), Belgium (€8.1 million), and Italy (€3.5 million), along with several other EU nations.

Despite France’s surge in purchases, total EU imports of Russian titanium remained relatively stable at €214.8 million, slightly below the €216.6 million recorded in the previous year.
